| Researchers claim that making packs of paracetamol smaller has saved at least 600 lives from overdoses. They estimated such deaths fell by 43 per cent over the 11 years studied after sales of the painkiller were limited in 1998 to 32 tablets through pharmacies and 16 at other shops. |
